Be the Change
"Be the change you want to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi
What change do you want to see in the world? Do you take steps to show and teach others the importance of your vision? Is it access to more art or music you are looking for? Do you see a better world achieved through increased tolerance for differences? Or do you envision changes on a global level, such as clean water for everyone?
I see a world where . . .
- people value their and other people's physical and mental health . . . and fight through or encourage another to carve out some strength, even after years of being sedentary or self-abusive.
- families work (again and again and again) to undo old unhealthy eating habits and introduce more whole foods . . . even if it's really hard and gets pushback.
- people can tolerate, support, and cheer for one another's placement on the continuum of health . . . whether that's far behind or way ahead of where we stand.
- athletes can achieve both their needs to train sensibly from where they are today as well as to push ahead during a competition . . . so that their development is even, balanced, and injury-free, and their moments of competition powerful.
- strength is the standard of beauty . . . not in terms of being the strongest in the world, but in how it shines through our bodies and from our eyes.
I see a world where I am strong enough to hold up those weaker than me . . . until they are ready to walk on their own.
