Getting Ready for Summer - Part 4: Commit to Your Choices

Here you are!

You’ve already completed the first three steps of getting ready for summer …

  1. Step into the Sunshine

  2. Prepared Your Mind for the Long Game

  3. Disrupt Your Normal Routine

… and you are ready to take action. Wonderful!

Here’s what you need to do: Commit to Your Choices.

This is when things get really tough … because our minds are masters of doubt. We question ourselves, start to chase our tails, and end up dizzy and exhausted.

I’m here to tell you — go two feet in. Commit.

Give yourself a year to try something on.

Because when it comes to getting the results we’re looking for, the truth is they take time.

It takes time …

  • to build the habit of showing up.

  • for our new exercises to become automatic.

  • for our bodies to take us seriously and get on board with our goals.

  • to build muscle and burn fat.

  • for our metabolism to shift so that we’re burning more fat than we’re keeping.

And because it takes time,

it’s easy to give up.

I’m here to tell you…do not give up.

The results WILL come

The fat WILL burn

The toning WILL happen

But only if you stay the course.

To stay the course, revisit steps 1-3 (listed above) as often as you need …

  • to keep stepping into the sunlight (and to resist hiding in the shadows)

  • to remember that this is a long game (not a quick results sprint)

  • to make yourself do something different than you’ve done (not rely on the habits that are not working)

What we’re doing here is controlling what we can: taking steps forward; setting our mindset; and putting into motions habits that will give us results.

Your job is to commit to the choices you’ve made.

——————————-

This said, because I’ve been been walking this path for quite some time, I’m guessing you’re wondering:

… but how do I know that my choices are the right ones?

My best advice for you is to find a trusted guide. This should be someone who understands YOU. She needs to respect that

  • we are each unique

  • we all respond differently to exercise and food

  • our psychological makeup is one-of-a-kind

Once you have hired someone, then it’s time to get started. You will

  1. commit to a path (set your mind for at least 12 months to harvest the fruit of your efforts)

  2. show up every day (eliminate the “IF” from exercise, and replace it with “HOW”)

  3. get back up when you fall down (because we all fall … and to succeed we must commit to standing back up to reach the destination)

I’ve spent the past 27 years committed to figuring out what works for me … in terms of my physical, mental, and spiritual health. Now I get to help others do the same for themselves … whether to push them as their personal trainer, help them overcome barriers through life coaching, or in providing a year-long subscription fitness option that is designed to help people show up.

If you’re looking to step out of hiding, claim joy in your life, and to like the person in the mirror, I have a package designed just for you. Book your free call today. I’d love to help you achieve your most treasured life goals.
