Here we are at the final step to get a summer body.

The prior four blogs have taught you how to:

STEP INTO THE SUNSHINE

COMMIT TO YOUR CHOICES

Now it’s time to take action.

I can still recall the first time I was asked to do “box jumps” (see photo). Instead of a 20” jump as pictured, it was a 10” box. With my workout comrades cheering me on, I finished five minutes after everyone else. And yes, I thought I was going to die. I’d never had to jump to anything (besides over a jump rope), and certainly never for 20 jumps in a row. I NEVER thought the day would come when I’d jump higher and for more reps. And yet … I did. How? By consistently showing up.

And that’s what you’re going to do.

Whether that’s in training for your first 5k, learning to jump rope, or in building strength … YOU are going to learn to CONSISTENTLY SHOW UP for YOU.

How? By being held ACCOUNTABLE.

When I look back to every major obstacle I’ve overcome, my success has come from being held accountable.

I’m talking about mentors and coaches who have helped me:

  • gain strength

  • have healthy eating habits

  • achieve a healthy mood

  • overcome my fear of public speaking

  • build my business

Why is accountability so important?

Because knowledge alone is not enough. In fact, knowing can be a detriment to our success because we think that knowing is sufficient. But it’s not. In fact, knowledge on its own gives us a false belief that we can achieve.

Yet success comes from taking action … not from thinking.

Accountability allows us to put the right knowledge into action.

Accountability is

  • someone noticing when we show up

  • non-judgmental

  • someone caring about how we feel

  • a listening ear

  • a careful question

I believe that it is never too late to change, and that the courage to do so begins with kindness and accountability.

It’s for this reason, that I’ve created the Consistency for Results online fitness program.
